I grew up with Lucie attending Spring Branch RLDS congregation. We attended Sunday School, Skylarks, Orioles, Oteens and Chrisman High School together. I spent many hours in the Toms’ home while growing up. After high school, I moved away for a few years and we mostly lost touch. Three years ago we had a house fire and I needed to replace my Tupperware. Sharon let me know that Lucie sold Tupperware and I gave her a call. Lucie was great at selling Tupperware, always remembering what I was needing or wanting and letting me know when it went on sale. She remembered (after 40 years) that my favorite color was red, and she brought me red Tupperware (as long as Simaran didn't want it). When she came to deliver Tupperware we sat and talked and caught up on our lives. Mostly she talked about Cedric and Simaran and I talked about my kids. What would start out to be a short drop off would turn into an hour or maybe two or more. It was like the years hadn't gone by and she was still my dear friend. When I let my brother John know that Lucie had passed, he said "that's like losing family". I wholeheartedly agreed. Love you Lucie, you will be missed!

Lucie was a sweetheart… She was my thrift store buddy. How I met her was, as soon as I saw her eyes, I thought she was Sharon until I looked closer! It was then that she told me who she was. Always cheerful, always finding treasures and sharing them… Never knew a stranger, just a sweetheart… I will miss her on Sundays. I went in and some of the regulars and I shared stories and how she always had on a cap every time we saw her.

Love you Sharon, we will see Lucie in Heaven.

Dear Family,

Thank you for sharing your mom with us. I first met Lucie at Salvation Army when she was volunteering with the bread line. Lucie remembered names and made her way around the room, speaking to everyone. She also remembered if there was something special you liked. She would come out and say, “We have some of your favorite items today!”

I did not know she was the sister of one of my friends until Sharon came to the Salvation Army with Lucie one day. A very special and giving lady in so many areas. We will miss her. May God’s Peace and Comfort be with you.

This is hard for so many people. Lucie had a loving heart which was bigger than the world. Lucie loved to talk, and I enjoyed and am grateful for her sitting for my dog Gracie when I was in the hospital, and her helping me with things I couldn’t do after my surgery. She loved her children and her family and her boyfriend very much. She shared so much with me I feel like I know her total family. We all lost a very special Angel. I will miss her friendship and watching T with her in the evening. My Gracie looks for her in the evening, if she hears a noise at night she thinks it’s Lucie. I have known Lucie for almost 20 years.

Fly high my friend, will see you in Heaven. Miss you so much.

“A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity. It dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”

“Some days are better, some days are worse. Look for the blessing instead of the curse. Be positive, stay strong, and get enough rest. You can’t do it all, but you can do your best.”
